An inspiring afternoon celebrating Minnesota’s strong and diverse community of female entrepreneurs. Come listen to their stories of grit, growth, and spirit. Stay afterwards and mingle, be curious, and meet other like-minded women entrepreneurial leaders in our community.

Minnesota’s inaugural event will kick off with Nina Hale, visionary and founder of Nina Hale Inc, a performance digital agency. Followed by Kweilin Ellingrud, who leads the gender equality initiative at McKinsey & Company, and has previously spoken at the United Nations on the topic.

The afternoon will be rounded off with a salon-style conversation with some of Minnesota’s top female mavens like restauranteur Kim Bartmann, Wit&Delight Lifestyle Blogger Kate Arends, Newborn Foundation’s founder Annamarie Saarinen, House of Talents founder Kate Herzog, The Coven Co-Ceo Alex West Steinman, and tech start-up Kidizen’s Dori Graff. The event emcee and moderator is Amanda Brinkman, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Deluxe.

Many thanks to our sponsors Pixie Dust Inc, 4As, Muffy Macmillan of the Cargill Foundation, Shop Class Creative and many more for their support and commitment. If you are interested in being a sponsor of WED, please contact Laura Keller at laura@pixiedustinc.com.

What is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED)?

Women account for 85 percent of consumer purchases and control $20 trillion in worldwide spending. At the same time, they perform 66 percent of the world’s work and only earn 10 percent of the world’s income.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is a movement that carries throughout the year in support of women in business globally. WED ignites women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities worldwide.

WED is passionately dedicated and committed to elevating the following five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to make the world a better place: Goal 1: Ensure inclusive and quality education. Goal 2: Achieve gender equality. Goal 8: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all. Goal 17: Revitalize global partnership for sustainable development.

WED is celebrated in 144 countries and 65 universities/colleges internationally! The WED mission is to empower the 4 billion women across the globe to be catalysts of change, and uplift the 250 million girls living in poverty globally.
